The 8.16.12 is a bundle of hardware item J-Link Ultra and software item RDI/GDB server. The J-LINK ULTRA is a JTAG/SWD emulator designed for ARM/Cortex and other supported CPUs. It is fully compatible to the standard J-Link and works with the same PC software. Based on the highly optimized and proven J-Link, it offers even higher speed as well as target power measurement capabilities due to the faster CPU, built in FPGA and high speed USB interface. It connects via USB to a PC running Microsoft Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows Vista or 7. The J-Link ARM RDI software is an RDI interface for J-Link. It makes it possible to use J-Link with any RDI compliant debugger. Remote Debug Interface (RDI) is an application programming interface (API) that defines a standard set of data structures and functions that abstract hardware for debugging purposes. J-Link RDI mainly consists of a DLL designed for ARM cores to be used with any RDI compliant debugger. . J-Link Ultra is fully compatible to the standard J-Link . Very high performance for all supported CPU cores . Hi speed USB 2.0 interface . JTAG speed up to 25MHz . Serial wire debug (SWD) supported . J-Link ARM RDI is usable with every RDI compliant debugger . Supports more than 2 breakpoints when debugging in flash by using the flash breakpoints feature . Offers download into flash without the need for a flash loader . Instruction set simulation (improves debugging performance) . Any core supported by J-Link ARM (ARM7 / ARM9) and easy to use
